Dodger

Dodger

Dog • Male • 4 years • Doberman Pinscher

Dodger is a shy and nervous dog who is still adjusting to the shelter environment. He was hesitant during handling and needed gentle coaxing when being leashed and moved through the kennel areas. In the play yard, Dodger explored calmly and greeted other dogs appropriately, though he remained tense and preferred to keep to himself rather than engage in play. He did respond defensively when another male dog targeted him, but the situation was quickly resolved. During his handling assessment, Dodger allowed full handling without issue but appeared very uncomfortable and stressed throughout the process. He tolerated touch well but maintained a tense body posture and nervous demeanor. Dodger would benefit from a patient, experienced adopter who can help build his confidence and allow him time to adjust at his own pace. Slow introductions and a calm environment are recommended to help him feel safe and secure. Dodger would do best in an adults-only home with no small dogs. Calm, large dogs may be a good match for him with proper introductions. KHOA for small dog attack. At the time of surrender, PTI stated that back in November 2025, A5773623 randomly attacked and injured PTI's Poodle causing deep puncture wounds that required sutures to repair. NFD.
